AIDS Walk New York 2023: Join Us in Central Park on Sunday, May 21
March 24, 2023–AIDS Walk New York is happy to announce the Walk will be in Central Park on Sunday, May 21st! You can join your colleagues from VNS Health and SelectHealth for this great annual event supporting the fight against HIV/AIDS. To register (no donation required): Participants will receive a t-shirt at the event. On Sunday, May 21st, enter Central Park at 72nd Street from either the East or West sides. Walkers check in upon arrival – the registration check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. Meet the SelectHealth Team at the Team Meeting Station along Literary Walk by 9:40 a.m. to pick-up your t-shirt. We also plan to take a big group photo before the start of the AIDS Walk! Volunteer for Sunday Baking with God’s Love We Deliver on April 30th
April 19, 2023–We are happy to share this volunteer opportunity with VNS Health Cares, in collaboration with God’s Love We Deliver! Come volunteer for Sunday Baking with God’s Love We Deliver on April 30th, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and prepares food and home-delivers medically tailored meals for people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area. All of their services are provided free to clients and full of love. Where is it? VNS Health team members will volunteer on kitchen projects at God’s Love We Deliver located in Manhattan at 166 Avenue of the Americas (Entrance is on the corner of Spring and 6th Avenue). When is it? Sunday April 30th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Note: There is a max of 11 VNS Health team members who can participate in this volunteer opportunity! March in the Forest Hills Annual Memorial Day Parade
April 19, 2023–Join VNS Health’s Veterans Program on Sunday, May 28th as they march in the Forest Hills Annual Memorial Day Parade. This event is hosted by the American Legion Continental Post 1424. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the parade will step off at noon. VNS Health team members are invited to attend the ceremony if they like or just walk in the parade. Here’s What You Need to Know: Where and when is it? The Memorial ceremony with speeches takes place at 11:00 a.m. in front of the American Legion Continental Post Building at 107-15 Metropolitan Avenue, Forest Hills, NY, 11375. The March starts from there at 12:00 p.m. and follows Metropolitan Avenue West. Note: If you are just marching and not attending the ceremony, you should arrive at least 15 minutes before 12:00 p.m. so you have time to find the VNS Health Veterans Program team. How

Volunteer with VNS Health Cares in a Shoreline Cleanup at Canarsie Pier on March 25th
March 16, 2023–Join VNS Health Cares and volunteer in a Shoreline Cleanup at Canarsie Pier on March 25th, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. VNS Health team members will join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, Assemblymember Jaime R. Williams and Councilmember Mercedes Narcisse for a shoreline cleanup at Canarsie Pier. Volunteers will help remove trash and debris from Canarsie Pier’s important shorelines while enjoying incredible views of Jamaica Bay! Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring their own water and sunscreen. Event is rain or shine. This interactive webinar will provide tips and considerations to help participants better understand how they can use self-advocacy to access healthcare.
