VNSNY Celebrates Holi!
March 31, 2021–The Hindu festival of Holi, also known as “the festival of colors,” concluded this past Monday, March 29. The ancient day and a half long celebration coincides with the lunar calendar, while also marking the end of the Winter season and the beginning of Spring. Holi comes to signify new beginnings: an opportunity for people to end conflicts and forgive one another, while coming together to celebrate a good Spring harvest. Many of VNSNY’s own staff celebrate Holi and took part in the festivities, sharing pictures from this year’s festival as well as Holi celebrations from years past. March is National Social Work Month, National Women’s History Month, and March 10 was Lillian Wald’s birthday. In this brand-new episode, Dan discusses each of these March events with his featured guests, including VNSNY staff members Leslie Davis, Evita Borko, Ling-Wai Fung, Mary Kay King, and Maya Seidel. Keith has an extensive background in managed care and robust experience in provider and other healthcare services, including senior finance positions with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Ready Responders, an on-demand community healthcare service. Partners in Care HHA Michelle Brown Explains Why You Should Get the COVID Vaccine Now!
February 26, 2021–In this “Ask VNSNY” video, Partners in Care HHA Michelle Brown encourages you to get the COVID vaccine if you haven’t already. As Michelle says, “If we all do it, we can put an end to this pandemic sooner rather than later.” To hear Michelle’s story, click on the video below. First Doses of COVID Vaccine Are Still Available through March 20th at our VNSNY Clinic — Here’s How You Can Get Vaccinated!
February 23, 2021–VNSNY’s COVID-19 vaccine program will continue offering first doses of the Moderna vaccine through Saturday, March 20th. Between now and then, our goal is to provide the vaccine to as many Partners in Care home health aides who wish to be vaccinated as possible. How to Schedule Your COVID Vaccination There are two easy ways to schedule an appointment at the VNSNY Vaccine Clinic at 220 East 42nd Street: Simply fill out a Vaccine Request form by clicking here……or call our Vaccination Hotline at: 212-609-4126. (For Chinese-speaking home health aides, call 212-609-7776.) If you get a recording, leave your name and phone number, and a scheduler will call you back.
