I need to go to Fort Myers, Florida, mid next week. I plan to test for COVID-19 prior and post my return. Am I to quarantine for 10 days post returning to New York City?   A. So, if you’re going to travel to Fort Myers, you need to get tested three days before you come back to New York City. And then when you come back, you need to get another test four days later, which is a total of seven days. And so, you can come back to work if you are

February 11, 2021–Answers to Staff Questions Vaccination, Supplies and PPE, and HR Policies        The following FAQs were adapted from questions submitted by VNSNY staff for the CEO       Conference Calls hosted by  Dan Savitt  on  Tuesday, February 9th.       Vaccination  Q. As resident of New Jersey, please advise whether I am excluded from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from VNSNY, given the expanded eligibility for person’s with health conditions.    A. The answer is no, you are not excluded and if you meet the qualifying conditions for those that are getting vaccinated at our VNSNY vaccination clinic, it doesn’t matter whether you’re coming from or Jersey or New York or Connecticut or from Pennsylvania for that matter, or wherever you’re coming from.  So if you qualify and you’re a VNSNY employee, we’d love to see you there.    Q. Can you share the number who were vaccinated?    A. Andria Castellanos: So far we have given 3142 first doses and 355

February 5, 2021–Answers to Staff Questions on Vaccination, Supplies and PPE, and Patient Care        The following FAQs were adapted from questions submitted by VNSNY staff for the CEO       Conference Call hosted by  Dan Savitt  on  Tuesday, February 2nd.       Vaccination  Q. What would the home health aides do if they hadn’t had a chance to receive the vaccination?  A. So there is a hotline that can be called.  That’s the easiest way to make an appointment.  And that number is 212-609-4126.  You can also submit an online request form in the Partners in Care Resource Center, but I would encourage our home health aides to call the number to get scheduled.  That’s a good way to do it.   Q. Can a home health aide who works for another agency besides Partners in Care, sign up on our wait list?  They are serving our vulnerable patient population, but many agencies are not assisting in vaccinations. A.

January 22, 2021–Answers to Staff Questions on  Vaccination and Employee Health and Safety        The following FAQs were adapted from questions submitted by VNSNY staff for the CEO       Conference Calls hosted by  Marki  Flannery  on  Tuesday,  January 19th.        Vaccination  Q. How does an employee get on the list for the end of day leftover vaccination?    A. Andria Castellanos, Chief of Provider Services: So the vaccines come in vials, and the vials have ten doses.  Sometimes they have 11 doses, and once in a while, they have 12 doses.  And so, at the end of the day, we sometimes have leftover doses.  And what we are doing, and you should have received an email about this, is really offering leftover doses to friends and family who meet the eligibility criteria.  So the eligibility criteria are essentially for friends and family, anyone over 65.    And we’re asking people who are interested in having their friends and family sign up,

How frequently is the N95 mask replacement recommended? What is the process for frontline staff to obtain new N95 masks? Also interested in knowing whether we are currently receiving supplies from the state or federal authorities and what is our current stock of N95 masks look like?   A. Tony Dawson, Vice President for Quality and Customer Experience: So please reuse your mask unless it becomes soiled and/or non-usable. We’re asking you to reuse that N95 mask as we always have since we started this, but if your N95 mask is soiled and/or no longer usable, you can pick one up at the regional distribution centers.   Michael Bernstein, Chief Experience

What is the estimated number of employees, field and home health aides that will receive the vaccine?  A. We have about 9000 field staff in total between our clinicians and our home health aides.  A little bit more, but in that ballpark and we’re hopeful that we will receive adequate vaccines to vaccinate all of them. Again, it is voluntary. Staff may not choose to be vaccinated, but we hope that they will.  And again, remember each person needs to be vaccinated twice, 28 days apart.   Q. December 28, 2020–Answers to Staff Questions on Employee Health and Safety,  Patient Care and Clinical Questions, and HR Policies       The following FAQs were adapted from questions submitted by VNSNY staff for the CEO        Conference Calls hosted by  Marki  Flannery  on  Tuesday, December 22nd.   Employee Health and Safety      Q. Is everyone free to take the COVID-19 vaccine?    A. We are planning to make the vaccine available once we receive it in a prioritization order. We’re going to start with those staff who are working in assisted living facilities and in nursing homes on our behalf. And from there, we will continue the prioritization. We’re going to start with our direct care staff, not with all staff, because we will have a limited supply of the vaccine coming to us. Andria Castellanos, Chief of Provider Services: We have about 9,000 field staff.  That’s a lot of field staff.  So, we ask for everybody’s patience as we work
