“What Is One Thing You Love About Working for VNS Health?”
April 5, 2024–Over 330 Home Health Aide team members responded to our February raffle question—“What is one thing you love about working for VNS Health?” And what great responses we received! The big picture: Of those who participated in February’s raffle question… Three $200 Prizes: We took the names of all the HHA team members who participated in February’s raffle question, put them all together, and drew three names at random. The three winning team members who each received $200 were Angela Gaffney, Enileika Chirinos Calderon, and John Miranda Byrd. Hitting Home: A Ukrainian Colleague Shares Her Story
March 10, 2022–New York City is home to the largest Ukrainian American population in the U.S. Over 150,000 Ukrainians live within the city’s five boroughs, many of them residing in the Ukrainian communities of Manhattan’s Lower East Side and Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. The war in Ukraine has had a particularly devastating impact on these New Yorkers, including our Ukrainian American colleagues, patients, clients, plan members, and their families who are part of our VNSNY community. Our hearts, thoughts, and support go out to all of them at this extremely difficult time. Please meet Kateryna Vinarskiya, a Ukrainian-born home health aide who’s been with Partners in Care for a little more than two years. “It Has Been a Beautiful Experience” — Meet Ivette Colón, Partners in Care Home Health Aide
January 21, 2022–When Ivette Colón moved to New York from Puerto Rico in search of more financial stability, she had no idea what the future held for her. “I moved because of my financial situation,” she recalls. “Puerto Rico has been in economic stagnation for fifteen years.” In Puerto Rico, she had worked in the hospitality industry, but once in New York, her sister told her about the job opportunities working as a home health aide at Partners in Care and Ivette decided to give it a try. She’s been a home health aide for five years now, and enjoys her work very much. “I have liked the experience,” Ivette says. “My vision of empathy towards the person who is either ill or needs to improve their daily life has broadened. Not everyone who needs this service is due to illness—it is also due to age.” Ivette lives in Ridgewood, Queens with

VNSNY’s (Virtual) Gala Raises More Than $1.4 Million! Despite fervent hopes that the 2021 Benefit Gala would be an in-person event, VNSNY made the difficult decision not to host a large, indoor celebration quite yet this year. “Even though we had to pivot to a virtual event, we released a pre-recorded program video on November 11th that people can watch at their convenience,” says John Billeci, VNSNY’s Vice President of Special Events. “It contains many of the same elements that our in-person event usually has, including a video about VNSNY and the presentation of our Lillian D.
