Delivering Care, Love, and Respect Every Day: Our MLTC Plan—and Our HHAs—in Action!
July 16, 2024–Although 79-year-old Luly* has dementia and is no longer able to be by herself, her days are full of love and caring, thanks to round-the-clock support provided by four dedicated Personal Care home health aides—Miriam Bonilla-Britto, Jissell Taveras Perez, Raisa Calero, and Marina Moreno De Del Orbe. Together, Miriam, Jissell, Raisa, and Marina work split shifts in perfect harmony. Like Luly, who is a member in our Medicaid Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) health plan, all four aides speak mainly Spanish, and the personal care services they provide are covered completely by her plan, which is designed for Medicaid recipients with an ongoing need for long-term care. For the three-plus years that Luly has been an MLTC member, “she has never been to a hospital,” says Miriam proudly. June 18, 2024–188 Home Health Aide team members responded to our April raffle question—“Why is your favorite VNS Health client your favorite?” What great responses we received! Common themes included clients who made happy work environments, friendly greetings, being treated with mutual respect, and being treated like family. May 6, 2024–When it comes to doing social activities with clients, VNS Health Home Health Aides are incredibly imaginative! From playing “Name That Tune” to telling jokes our HHA team members sure know how to engage their clients in fun social activities. In all, more than 280 Home Health Aide team members responded to our March raffle question: “Do you have any tips for social activities you like to do with your clients?” The Big Picture: Of those who participated in the March raffle question… Three $200 Prizes: We took the names of all the HHA team members who participated in the March raffle question, put them together, and drew three names at random. “What’s a Little Thing You Do to Brighten Your Client’s Day?”
February 27, 2024–The above question is the first entry in a new monthly raffle the VNS Health Personal Care team just launched: Each month, home health aide (HHA) team members will be asked a question about the care they provide to their patients and clients. There will be a different question every month—and from among those who answer the question, three HHAs will be picked at random to receive a prize. (To see this month’s winners, click here.) More than 400 HHA team members responded to this first question. Of that group, 33% said they brighten their client’s day by cooking their client’s favorite meal… 18% replied that they sing, dance, or play music (one HHA plays Bob Marley for their client, another plays Tina Turner)… and 17% said they share a cheerful smile or say something positive to their patient or client.
