October 11, 2017–On October 8th, VNSNY’s Project HOPE hospice outreach program was featured on the WABC-TV television news show “Here and Now,” reaching over a million New Yorkers. The news story, which focuses on barriers to hospice care in African American communities, includes interviews with VNSNY Hospice Director of Community Outreach, Michelle Drayton, and VNSNY Hospice Faith-Based Leader, Jo-An Owings, discussing how Project HOPE is raising awareness about the benefits of hospice care among the residents and healthcare professionals in the Harlem neighborhood in northern Manhattan.
