VNSNY Becomes VNS Health on May 18th. Here’s What Changes — And What Doesn’t

May 4, 2022

One of the most commonly asked questions about our organization’s new name and branding is—what’s changing, and what’s staying the same? To answer that question, we’ve put together this short list.

What is changing:

  • Our name. All parts of the organization will be uniting as VNS Health. We are all members of teams that make up VNS Health: one organization, one team, one mission.
  • Our logo and brand colors. Our new logo and design is easy to say, read, and remember.
  • How we describe our different teams. We did consumer research and we listened to how people think—and talk—about the services we provide. As a result, our language will describe what we do in the way people talk about it, using descriptive words that are easy to understand. For example, when we talk about the work our home health aides do, we’ll use the words Personal Care. So as of May 18th, we won’t call Partners in Care by that name—instead, we’ll call it “VNS Health Personal Care.”
  • As VNS Health, we no longer have “New York” in our name. While we’ll continue to provide vital services to New Yorkers, we are confident there are also opportunities for us to serve individuals outside of New York, and provide solutions to health care organizations and health plans in other states. Our new name serves us well as we pursue growth beyond New York.
  • ID badges. Everyone will be getting new ID badges with our new name and our new colors!
  • Our website. The new VNS Health website will be launched on May 18th. The new URL will be vnshealth.org. At launch, visitors who go to the old vnsny.org site will automatically be redirected to the new vnshealth.org website.
  • Email addresses. Everyone with a vnsny.org email address will be getting a vnshealth.org email address—but not until the fall of 2022.
  • Uniforms. All team members who are required to wear a uniform or scrubs will get new ones with the new logo at no cost.
  • Rolling bags and backpacks. All frontline clinicians who currently have rolling bags or backpacks will receive a new rolling bag or backpack with our new logo.

What won’t change:

  • Our mission. The VNS Health name reflects our mission, which remains the same: to improve the health and well-being of people through high-quality, cost-effective health care in the home and community.
  • Our programs and services. The change to our new name, VNS Health, doesn’t change any of our patient, client, or member health care programs or services.
  • The importance of nursing to our organization. Our commitment to providing nursing care isn’t changing. Our new name, VNS Health, celebrates our roots and honors the legacy of our founder, Lillian Wald, America’s first public health nurse, while uniting us under the word “health.”
  • Your job. Our new name will not change or impact your job. The new name will also not change how we’re structured as an organization.
  • Our Core Values. Our three Core Values—Empathy, Integrity, and Agility—stay the same, as they unify us around a same set of shared principles and behaviors.

(Reminder: Don’t share the news of our new name and branding with anyone outside the organization until the change is officially announced on May 18th.)
