5 Ways Workday Will Make Your Life Easier

Workday is coming soon to your computer, tablet and smartphone—here’s what to expect!

Workday is heading our way! Our new HR, Finance and Planning system is scheduled to be rolled out this fall, so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, here are FIVE important Workday benefits you can look forward to!

  1. You’ll have fast, one-stop shopping for all your HR, Finance and Planning needs.

Workday is an all-in-one, self-service system. You can perform tasks and get info related to time-tracking, payroll, expenses, benefits, recruiting, purchasing, and more.  Because Workday brings these functions together in one place, you’ll no longer need to use multiple systems. No more iCIMS, Aspen 360, Chrome River, Workbrain, PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft FIN and Oracle Talent Management.

Examples: we will use Workday to view our latest pay slip and W2, check our PTO balances and submit requests, verify our current benefits, view and update personal information, change our tax withholding and direct deposit information, and print our own employment verification or tuition deferment letters.

  1. You’ll have your own profile page that you can access from any device with an Internet connection.

Every staff member using Workday will have their own Workday Profile Page, which includes a search feature that lets you easily navigate to any information or function you need. Workday also lives in the Cloud, so you’ll be able to access it through any Internet-connected device, even personal devices such as phones and tablets, in real time.

  1. If you’re a manager, you’ll have tools to help you manage your direct reports.

Workdaoffers managers fast and easy access to information about the staff they supervise. You can manage org charts, create dashboards that track employee data and performance metrics, and much more. It also provides alerts about requests that need manager approval, such as requests for PTO—simplifying and expediting approvals for all parties.

  1. You’ll have a comprehensive employee directory that includes organizational structures.

Workday’s directory feature provides every employee with access to employee information, such as job title, department, supervisor, and contact information. Real-time organization charts can also be viewed on-screen or printed as needed.

  1. You’ll be able to congratulate your colleagues and request feedback from co-workers.

Workday’s Give Feedback feature helps build teamwork and recognition. Use it to provide real-time feedback, thanking and congratulating colleagues for their help and congratulating them for their accomplishments. Your feedback can then be seen by any employee who clicks on that colleague’s profile!You can also use Workday’s Request Feedback option to ask your colleagues for feedback about you.

Before Workday goes live, there will be Q&A and Webex sessions to explain Workday’s features. You’ll also have easy access to Quick Reference Guides and videos that will walk you through common Workday tasks. To ensure a smooth transition, a support team and HRConnect will also be available to you after the go-live date.
