Partners in Care Expands Presence in NYC’s Chinese-American Community with Acquisition of Prestige and All Seasons LHCSAs

January 31, 2019

Partners in Care, VNSNY’s licensed home care services agency (LHCSA), has acquired two other New York City-based LHCSAs, the sister agencies Prestige and All Seasons. This acquisition adds another 1,218 home health aides (HHAs) to Partners in Care’s staff—increasing the agency’s total HHA workforce to over 11,000—and also expands its customer base by 739 new clients.

Both agencies primarily serve New York City’s Chinese-American residents, and most of the newly acquired HHAs speak either Mandarin or Cantonese. “VNSNY and Partners in Care already have a strong presence among the city’s Asian-American communities,” notes Jennifer Brullo, Senior Vice President for Partners in Care. “The addition of our newest HHAs, with their diverse language skills, further enhances our ability to care for this culturally important population.”

Partners in Care added 1,218 HHAs with its acquisition of the Prestige and All Seasons licensed home care services agencies. These additional HHAs primarily serve Chinese-American seniors throughout New York City.

The acquisition also benefits Partners in Care in other ways, says Jennifer. “As more LHCSAs try to enter the New York-area market, our ability to continue increasing our market share is critically important, and this helps us do that,” she explains. “Gaining these additional HHAs and their clients will also enhance our ability to deliver care to vulnerable New Yorkers, since we’ll be able to provide more services to more people without adding to our overall administrative costs.” Many of the newly acquired clients are members of a VNSNY CHOICE health plan as well, she adds, “so having their HHAs become part of VNSNY will encourage them to remain enrolled in CHOICE.”

The acquisition was finalized in late September of 2018. Since then, all of the newly acquired aides have successfully transitioned to Partners in Care along with over two dozen Prestige and All Seasons supervisory staff and a number of their nurses. “The onboarding has gone very smoothly,” says Jennifer. “Our new clients have all received new start-of-care visits, and virtually every one of them was able to retain their current HHA, which they’re extremely happy about. It’s really been a ‘win’ for everyone.”
