VNS Health’s Behavioral Health Team Awarded with Caritas Medal from St. John’s University
Congratulations to the Behavioral Health team who was awarded the Caritas Medal from St. John’s University. This annual award is given for service of the poor in the New York metropolitan area.
The Behavioral Health team, under the leadership of Jovita M. Crasta, M.D., was honored with this award for their intensive mobile treatment programs that “bring frontline, humane health care to high-risk homeless clients” and “provide individualized care to clients no matter the setting, be it on the street or in a subway station, if necessary.”
Dr. Jovita M. Crasta accepted the Medal on behalf of the BH team at the Vincentian Convocation on Thursday, September 22, 2022 on St. John’s University’s Queens’ campus. The Caritas Medal was presented along with five other honors that were also awarded to individuals and their organizations for different ways of responding to the poor among us.
Please join us in celebrating the great work that is done by the Behavioral Health team at VNS Health for their service of the poor in the New York metropolitan area!
