VNS Health Virtual Juneteenth Event

Juneteenth (June 19th) is a federal holiday that commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved Americans were freed in accordance with the Emancipation Proclamation. 

Join us on Tuesday, June 21st, from 11 AM to 1 PM for a virtual VNS Health event commemorating Juneteenth. This special event will feature guest speaker, Dr. CarolAnn Daniel, Professor of Social Work at Adelphi University.

Workshop: Juneteenth and the historical legacy of race and racism in contemporary American life

The workshop will provide participants with a deeper understanding of Juneteenth, an introductory overview of race and racism in the U.S., and its effects on people who identify as Black. This discussion is important for understanding the racial system we have inherited and what is needed to create change.​​​​​​​
