September is Emergency Preparedness Month: Learn How You Can Be Prepared

If an emergency or important incident or event occurs, VNS Health wants to be able to contact you. Please take a moment to make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact information on hand.

Workday Users: Review your emergency and personal contact information in Workday at least once a year, and be sure to keep it updated!

How You Can Be Prepared in an Emergency:

There are important things you should know and things you can do now to better prepare yourself in the event of an emergency. Some of these things include knowing New York City’s hurricane evacuation zones, preparing a Go Bag, and keeping a Household Emergency Kit.

To read more and to find a checklist for what to include in your Go Bag and Household Emergency Kit, click here.

Fire Safety When Working in the Office:

When working in the office, please be prepared in the event of a fire by knowing the following:

  • The locations of your floor exits.
  • The locations of fire emergency telephones to contact the Building Fire Safety Director or Management.
  • The locations of fire extinguishers. When using fire extinguishers, think of the acronym PASS that stands for P-pull the pin, A-aim to the base of fire, S-squeeze the handle, and S-sweep side to side as you move from base to top.
  • That you are required to participate and follow instructions during fire drills.
