How Will the New Administration in Washington Impact Health Care and VNS Health?

January 21, 2025–A new administration in Washington often means new Federal health care policies. With President Trump taking the presidential oath of office yesterday, what changes will there be and how will they affect VNS Health? Frontline put these questions to Dan Lowenstein, Senior Vice President and head of our Government Affairs (GA) team. We now have a new president who’s bringing in his own cabinet, including new leadership in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Meet Our 2024 Shared Services Contact Center Agent of the Year: Jasmin Harry

October 29, 2024–VNS Health Contact Center Agent Jasmin Harry is committed to the Center’s goal of “first call resolution”—to resolve a plan member’s needs or concerns on the first call. “I want to always be a person of my word and will do whatever it takes to make that happen,” says Jasmin, who was named VNS Health’s 2024 Shared Services Contact Center Agent of the Year. In her role supporting the Health Plans Medicare team, Jasmin’s commitment shone through in a recent interaction with the daughter of two plan members. The daughter contacted the Center to get her parent’s services changed.  She got a verbal yes, but it took a while for the paperwork to come through. Jasmin was on it from the start, and worked tirelessly to ensure the changes were made quickly. “Jasmin treats all members the same and always tries to resolve their issues on the first call,” says

Another Batch of Truly Amazing Letters and Commendations!

September 30, 2024–More than 100 team members and teams from across the organization provided such an outstanding consumer experience that people wrote letters, called, emailed, or posted about them.  To view their grateful notes and comments, simply scroll down or click on any of the areas below: Bronx “My friend.” One client’s daughter recently raved about the care home health aide Joyce Myrie provides to her mother, calling Joyce “compassionate, professional, and just above and beyond.” The daughter also said how much her mother misses Joyce on the weekends and refers to her as “my friend” in conversations with others. “I’m so proud of my teammate Gabby…” One VNS Health team member posted on our social media channel to give recognition to Mobile Crisis program assistant Gabrielle Perez, commenting, “I’m so proud of my teammate Gabby for saving a life and the work our Mobile Crisis teams do every day.” “Thank you

VNS Health Creates Home Care Nursing Scholarship with Touro University  

September 24, 2024–VNS Health is partnering with Touro University’s New York School of Career and Applied Studies to provide scholarships that cover all educational expenses for Touro’s five-semester Associate Nursing Degree program, including tuition, textbooks and other fees. In exchange, scholarship recipients pledge to join VNS Health Home Care as full-time nurses for at least two years following graduation and will also work at VNS Health as paid interns in between semesters. The program’s curriculum includes home-care specific courses not typically offered in nursing school, which will be taught by VNS Health nurses. With the fall semester now in full swing, the first group of scholarship students has begun attending classes at Touro’s Times Square campus.
