Meet Our 2024 ESPRIT Award Winner: Kristen Rosen

October 29, 2024

With America’s rapidly growing need for home care talent, VNS Health’s recruitment team plays an essential role in our ability to serve vulnerable New Yorkers in need—today and into the future. And Kristen Rosen, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition, is just the person to lead that vital undertaking.

“Kristen’s ability to connect with her team on a personal level, combined with her strategic vision, has been instrumental in our success,” said one of her nominators. “She has set a new standard for recruitment at VNS Health, and her contributions have had a lasting impact on our organization.”

For Kristen, who leads the recruitment team, the ability to help VNS Health maximize its impact is her job’s greatest reward. “In recruitment, I have the unique opportunity to bring exceptional people here who can make a difference with our patients and members, supporting our most vulnerable populations,” she says. “I’m bringing in people to help people, which is incredibly rewarding.”

In her three-and-a-half years at VNS Health, Kristen has fostered an environment in which everyone on her team feels supported, valued, and empowered to work towards solutions, say her colleagues. She also builds strong relationships with her internal clients in the business areas, making sure she understands their needs and partnering closely with them to get the right talent in the right place to make that VNS Health difference.

Kristen’s empathy, agility and integrity have a direct impact on VNS Health’s success in carrying out its strategic growth and continuing to deliver on its mission. When she was tasked with substantially growing the field and telephonic sales teams, “Kristen led by example and was open-minded and collaborative in exploring other people’s recruitment ideas,” recalled a nominator. “She was flexible, intuitively knew what we meant and developed really strong relationships with sales leadership. As a result, we have been able to staff our sales teams to meet the ambitious growth goals that will propel VNS Health to a new level in the coming years.”

Kristen’s colleagues are inspired by her positive attitude, resilience and dedication, including when she returned to work from a brief maternity leave, balancing the commitments of the job with the demands of an infant. The family member who her VNS Health colleagues might know the best is her pet husky Maya, who has been known to join a Zoom call accidentally (never speaking out of turn, though!).
