Five Key Take-Aways from the Latest VNSNY Pulse Survey!

May 15, 2019

Our thanks to everyone who completed the VNSNY April Pulse Survey! 60% of staff members sent in their responses—up from 58% for our last Pulse Survey in December.

Here are five key take-aways from the April results:

1) The overall trend is positive. Compared to last December’s survey, there was an increase in positive responses for every one of the 11 items the survey asked about.

2) We’re responding to the changing healthcare landscape. The single most favorable response from staff came on survey item #11: “VNSNY is taking steps to respond to the changing world of health care.” 81% of April’s survey respondents agreed with this statement (up from 76% in December), while just 4% disagreed.

3) Some areas of communication showed visible improvement … 70% of respondents agreed that “communication is a two-way street” at VNSNY, while 67% agreed there is effective communication within their program or department, and 66% said that “VNSNY’s senior management has communicated a clear vision for long-term success.”

4) …While other areas still need work. In particular, only 40% of those surveyed agreed that “there is effective communication between different programs/departments within VNSNY,” while 31% disagreed and 30% neither agreed nor disagreed with this statement.

5) Over two-thirds of survey respondents say they’d recommend VNSNY to a friend or relative.  When presented with the statement, “I would recommend VNSNY’s services to a friend or family member,” 69% of the April respondents said that they would—essentially the same result as our previous two surveys.
