Wow! Check Out All the Awards VNS Health Team Members Have Won Since January!
The first half of 2023 brought an extraordinary amount of recognition and success to our team members and programs here at VNS Health! Over that time, we’ve received a variety of awards and honors that put a spotlight on the important contributions and efforts our teams make each day.

June 2023:
It has been announced that Arthur Fitting, VNS Health LGBTQ Program Manager, will be included on the 2023 LGBTQ Power Players List, published yearly by PoliticsNY, Gay City News and amNY Metro. The list honors New York’s LGBTQ+ leaders in government and policymaking, education, health care, corporate industry, and social and civic advocacy. To read more, click here.
In addition, Shannon Whittington, Clinical Director, Gender Affirmation Program, and Arthur Fitting have each been named to the annual Crain’s Notable LGBTQIA+ Leaders List. Click here to read more.
May 2023:
The month of May brought news that VNS Health’s Neighborhood Spotlight video series has won the “Award of Excellence” from The Communicator Awards! The award, the highest honor given to video productions by the organization, recognized three Neighborhood Spotlight videos: “Little Odessa,” “Ghanian Children and Families in the Bronx,” and “How the Health Home at VNS Health Helped One New Yorker in the Marathon of Life.” The Communicator Awards is the leading global awards program honoring creative excellence for marketing and communications professionals. On May 15th, three VNS Health leaders were honored in Crain’s NY Business’s annual Notable Leaders in Healthcare List. This year, CEO and President Dan Savitt, Hany Abdelaal, President of VNS Health Health Plans, and Andria Castellanos, Executive Vice President and Chief of Provider Services, were all spotlighted for their work strengthening the health of New York communities, and for showing sustained dedication, vision, and provision of care. At the end of the month, it was announced that Yerika Edwards, supervisor with VNS Health Contact Center Shared Services (CCSS), had been awarded an honorable mention in the Association for Community Affiliated Plan’s annual Making a Difference Awards. To read more, click here.
March 2023:
On March 7, three VNS Health leaders were honored at the McKnight’s Pinnacle Awards ceremony in Chicago, IL. Jennifer Brullo, Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services, was recognized as a McKnight’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards ‘Setting the Standard’ honoree. Yvonne Eaddy, Vice President of Regional Patient Care Services, was honored as a McKnight’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards “Unsung Hero.” And Carol Odnoha, Director of the Nurse-Family Partnership, was honored as a McKnight’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards “Agent of Change.”
Also this month, VNS Health was recognized by Aging Media Network with a 1st place Aspect Award in the Rebrand category.
Our very own Executive Vice President and Chief of Provider Services, Andria Castellanos was also honored in March by being named to City & State’s 2023 Above and Beyond Women list.
And on March 29th, it was announced that VNS Health’s Nurse Residency Program had won the 2023 New York State Home Care Association (HCA) Trailblazer and Innovation Award!
January 2023:
2023 got off to a great start, with VNS Health CEO and President, Dan Savitt, being named to City & State’s Health Care Power 100 for 2023. To read all about it, click here.
Later in the month, two of VNS Health’s Neighborhood Spotlight documentary videos were awarded AVA Digital Awards in January! “Ghanaian Children and Families in the Bronx” received the AVA Digital Award (Gold) in both the nonprofit and documentary categories, and “Little Odessa” was awarded the AVA Digital Award (Gold) in the nonprofit category.
