Marylou Mendoza, Hospice Care Nurse, Receives Homecare Homebase Gold Standard Award for providing exceptional patient care
Congratulations to Marylou Mendoza, Hospice Care RN, for being selected by Homecare Homebase to receive the HCHB March 2024 Gold Standard Award for providing exceptional patient care!
HCHB’s Gold Standard Award honors home-based caregivers who utilize HCHB to provide exceptional patient care. Winners are nominated by their agency leaders and carefully selected by the HCHB team for their expertise, enthusiasm and dedication.
Introducing “Lunch with Our CEO”!
We’re excited to introduce “Lunch with Our CEO” – an opportunity for team members to have an informal conversation with CEO Dan Savitt over a relaxed lunch.
Each month, Dan will host a casual lunch for 15 to 18 team members from around the organization. The team members will be selected at random (starting with a non-field, employee pool up through the Director levels) to have lunch with Dan at our 220 East 42nd Street office. Those team members will have the chance to ask Dan any question they like. It might be a question about the organization, current events, or Dan himself. What you ask is up to you!
Our very first “Lunch with Our CEO” will take place on February 29th. Invitations have already gone out!

Volunteer Opportunity with the AAPI ERG: Illustrate Bags for ‘Heart of Dinner’ Care Packages on Wednesday, February 21
Join the AAPI ERG on Wednesday, February 21, any time from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. to help illustrate bags for ‘Heart of Dinner’ care packages.
Founded in NYC at the onset of COVID-19, Heart of Dinner’s mission works to directly address food insecurity and isolation experienced by Asian American seniors—two long-standing community issues. Heart of Dinner curates and sources culturally thoughtful and nutritious food, then assembles the essential ingredients inside uniquely illustrated brown bags with handwritten love notes attached in the Elders’ native languages to respect, honor, and dignify the cultural nuances across the Asian diaspora. The signature Heart of Dinner care packages are hand-delivered to Elder beneficiaries in need of the nourishment of their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
