How Team Members Are Harnessing AI in Their Daily Jobs

July 14, 2025–In his July CEO Zoom, CEO Dan Savitt introduced VNS Health’s new Top Company Objective: Harness AI to transform how we engage, support, and care for those we serve, empowering our teams to achieve superior health outcomes. This transformation has already begun, with team members from across the organization using AI to empower how they do their daily work. If you would like to share how you are using AI, please click here to answer a very short survey. We’d love to hear from you! To give you just a small example, here is how 16 team members said they’re using AI to help them in their jobs:

First Cohort Completes Leadership Development Program

June 24, 2025–On June 18, 14 Vice Presidents and Directors from across the organization completed our first “Leadership Unlocked” program, a dynamic 15-week Leadership Development Program designed to deepen each participant’s leadership capabilities through interactive learning experiences, coaching, assessments, VNS Health site visits and internal networking opportunities. Our first cohort concluded with two final projects, focused on Patient Satisfaction and Member Experience. A second cohort will be launched in the Fall, and additional cohorts will be offered in 2026. See the photos here of their final presentations and graduation!

New Tablets Empower Clinicians with Faster, Lighter Technology

June 24, 2025–VNS Health has begun rolling out upgraded clinical tablets to our Home Care team and the Hospice team is conducting a pilot, with deployment running now through mid-2026. The new Samsung Tab Active5 tablets offer faster processing speeds, a rear-facing flash for enhanced wound care photography, a lightweight design, and longer battery life that’s ideal for clinicians on the go. Extensive testing and clinician input was conducted in making the upgrade, with the goal of creating a better overall work experience. Clinicians can choose between an 8” tablet or a 10” tablet and accessories such as hand and shoulder straps. “These tablets are about giving clinicians the best tools to do their jobs more easily and effectively,” says Russell Meyers, Mobility Services Manager. “We want this technology to enhance their day-to-day work and be one more reason they feel supported at VNS Health.” The new tablets should do just that: They are approximately half the weight

VNS Health Golf Classic Raises Over $250K for Veterans Program

June 24, 2025–The VNS Health 2025 Golf Classic took place in May at the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, New York. The event had a sold-out field of 128 registered golfers and raised nearly $252,000 for VNS Health’s Veterans Program. A big “thank you” to Kerry Parker, EVP and Chief Legal and Risk Officer, for co-chairing the event once again along with Board member Ray Falci. Unfortunately, this will be Kerry’s last year serving in this position, as he is retiring at the end of this year. During his years as Co-Chair, the event has raised over $2 million to support the Veterans Program. See the Photos!

VNS Health Joins Statewide Push to Modernize Physical Therapy Assistant Supervision Policy

June 24, 2025–On April 29th, Roger Herr, VP, Regional Care Services for Home Care and Joe Gallagher, Director, Operation Support Services, represented VNS Health in Albany as part of a statewide advocacy effort organized by APTA NY. Along with physical therapists and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) from across New York, they met with state legislators and staff to push for a key Medicare policy update. The update would shift PTA supervision from direct supervision (where the PT and the PTA must be in the same location) to general supervision (where the supervising PT isn’t required to be on-site with the PTA, but is available to answer questions remotely). This change, which other states have already implemented, would allow PTAs to provide care more efficiently and flexibly—especially in home- and community-based settings.

“It Was Always About the Patients”—Mary Dionson, RN, Reflects on Her Remarkable Career

June 17, 2025–In her 34 years with VNS Health, caring for patients in their homes and mentoring other nurses across New York City, Mary Dionson, Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Manager for Manhattan and Staten Island, has carved a remarkable career, defined by compassion, dedication, and a deep love for nursing. Mary began her nursing career in the Philippines, where she earned her nursing degree. After emigrating to the United States in 1985, she worked for six years at Goldwater Memorial Hospital on Roosevelt Island, Queens. In 1991, with three young sons and another baby boy on the way, she made the switch to home care nursing and began working for VNS Health in Roosevelt Island as a per diem field nurse—a role that allowed her to balance her career and motherhood. “My schedule wasn’t as rigid as it was at the hospital, which really helped me,” Mary recalls. “It’s also so rewarding
