Celebrating Pride Month!

June 9, 2025

June is Pride Month, when we recognize and celebrate our LGBTQ+ team members and the LGBTQ+ community. At VNS Health, we are deeply committed to serving all New Yorkers, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.

An enduring and important symbol of Pride Month is the rainbow Pride Flag. The Pride Flag made its first appearance at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade in 1978. Since then there have been multiple versions of the flag, all serving as symbols of LGBTQ+ pride and inclusion. The most recent version, the Pride Progress Flag, builds on this legacy, incorporating additional colors to represent marginalized communities and honoring the spirit of resistance sparked by the Stonewall Riots of 1969.

Like the Pride Flag, VNS Health plays a vital role in the LGBTQ+ community. We are and will continue to be national leaders in providing culturally sensitive home- and community-based health care to LGBTQ+ patients, members and clients, including the life-changing and expert support offered by our Gender Affirmation Program. These services are an integral part of who we are as an organization.

Thank you for remaining steadfast in carrying out our mission — to enable New Yorkers of all backgrounds to live their best lives in their homes and communities, where they belong.

Happy Pride Month, everyone!
