The 2021 Strength From Within Campaign Kicks Off!

We’re excited to announce the launch of the 2021 Strength from Within Employee Giving Campaign! The goals are to support our mission, raise funds for programs aimed at decreasing healthcare disparities, and strengthen the culture of philanthropy here at VNSNY. “Over the last five years, we’ve seen the number of employees making a donation to one of our charitable and community programs grow nearly tenfold,” says Catherine Callaway, SVP of Marketing and Development. “It’s inspiring to see so many of our colleagues personally supporting the mission.” In 2019 and 2020, the campaign raised over $100,000, all of which went to support care for our neighbors and communities most in need.

“I contribute to Strength from Within every year,” says Jeri Goodman, Associate Director of Social Work Services. “Last year I chose to split my contribution between the Charitable Care and LGBTQ+ programs. In my social work role, I see directly how our Charitable Care funding enables us to deliver critical services to our most vulnerable patients.”

SPREADING THE WORD

Many departments have Mission Champions who work with the Development team to inform their colleagues about the campaign—and inspire them to make a gift. Michael Rocks, Education Manager, has been a Mission Champion for several years. “At our team rally for Clinical Support Services, we relayed stories shared by patients and clients,” he says. “This helped staff members to be inspired, and to form personal connections with the important work of our many laudable programs.”

Donations can be made in support of Charitable Care, Hospice, Community Mental Health Services, Nurse-Family Partnership, LGBTQ+, Veterans, or any one of our important programs. (You can also opt to make a less specific donation that will be applied to a charitable or community program of greatest need.)

There are many ways to make a donation or pledge.

• Print out a paper form to make a gift by check, credit card, or payroll pledge

Each day, VNSNY delivers expert and compassionate care to tens of thousands of New Yorkers, including those who are overlooked, marginalized, or otherwise find it hard to get the care they need. We meet people where they are—in their homes and communities—and we provide hope and a brighter future.

Participating in Strength from Within also has other benefits. “We make it as easy as possible to make a gift, and we try to keep the campaign fun,” says Michael Ambrosini, Director of Individual Giving. “Throughout the campaign, we’ll be sharing exciting news about raffle prizes for donors, and special events.”
