The flu season is officially underway in New York State… but at last count, a whopping 40% of VNSNY employees—including 33% of our direct care staff—had not yet received their flu shots. If you still haven’t gotten your flu shot this season, then we have just the encouragement! Click on the video below to hear from some of the most adorable—and articulate—pets you’ve ever seen, explaining why it’s SO important that every VNSNY employee gets vaccinated against the flu!

That’s right, the flu-shot pizza parties are back! “If everyone in your department gets a flu shot, then the pizzas are on us,” says Angela Courtenay, Director, Health & Wellness Services. “It’s our way of thanking everyone for taking this important step in protecting yourselves and our patients.”

Getting your flu shot couldn’t be easier.  You can get your flu shot by:

• Coming into one of the VNSNY regional offices when we’re providing flu shots (see below for our February vaccination schedule).
• Stop into your local CVS, Walgreens, or Duane Reade with your Employee ID card and a voucher (available on the VNSNY Intranet and HRConnect).
• See your own health care provider. Flu shots are covered by most health plans.
• Stop by any of the Mobile Health Management Services locations in Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island or Long Island.
